Blush is the makeup product everyone seems to be talking about right now, and a few names come up again and again in the beauty community: Rhode, Rare Beauty, Charlotte Tilbury, e.l.f., YSL and Huda Beauty. But they range from $10 to $46, and they’re not all the same kind of blush.

So I compared the six most talked-about blushes by price, how much you actually get, the formula, and what beauty editors and creators say about them. I haven’t tried any of these yet, so everything here is clearly labeled as research.

The quick verdict

  • Best overall: Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush ($25 for 7.5 mL)
  • Best cream blush: Rhode Pocket Blush ($24 for 5.3 g)
  • Best budget pick: e.l.f. Halo Glow Blush Beauty Wand ($10 for 10 mL)
  • Best matte liquid: Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Matte Beauty Blush Wand ($44 for 12 mL)
  • Best splurge powder: YSL Make Me Blush Powder Blush ($46)
  • Maybe: Huda Beauty Blush Filter ($25 for 4.5 mL)

I haven’t tested any of these blushes yet. They’re research picks based on reviews from beauty editors, creators and the brands’ own details. This post doesn’t contain affiliate links.

Cream, liquid or powder: which one suits you?

  • Cream blush (like Rhode) melts into skin and looks the most natural. It’s great for normal to dry skin and for quick, on-the-go application with your fingers.
  • Liquid blush (like Rare Beauty, Charlotte Tilbury, e.l.f. and Huda) is very pigmented, so one small dot is usually enough. Blend quickly, because some formulas set within seconds.
  • Powder blush (like YSL) is the easiest to control and usually the best choice for oily skin, since it doesn’t add extra slip.

A simple tip that applies to all of them: start with less than you think you need. Most of these are known for being very pigmented.

The viral blushes, one by one

1. Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush

Researched, not tested

Price: $25 for 7.5 mL at Sephora and Rare Beauty

Formula and finish: A liquid that melts into skin and dries to a soft satin finish. It comes in 11 dewy shades and 4 matte shades.

This is the blush that made “one dot is enough” famous. It’s also one of the most loved: more than 400 NewBeauty readers named it their favorite beauty product of 2025, and it has more than 12,000 positive reviews at Sephora. One reader told NewBeauty, “It’s creamy and easy to blend.”

Best for: Anyone who wants a long-lasting, natural flush, and beginners who want one reliable blush.

Glowy or not? Glowy. It’s the best balance of price, size and reviews in this list.

2. Rhode Pocket Blush

Researched, not tested

Price: $24 for 5.3 g (0.18 oz) at Rhode and Sephora

Formula and finish: A twist-up cream stick with a satiny, glowy finish, made with peptides and tamanu oil. Rhode says it can be used on cheeks and lips.

Rhode Pocket Blush is the most talked-about blush right now. Creators mentioned it in 1,675 videos in September 2026, more than twice as many as any other blush. Rhode now has 13 shades, including the new Teacup (raspberry pink) and Candy Apple (pearly warm red).

The Zoe Report’s beauty team gave it 5 out of 5, praising how easily it blends and how well it lasts in heat and humidity. One tester said it “looks as fresh as the moment it was applied” hours later. Rhode says it lasts at least 8 hours in its own clinical test.

Best for: Normal to dry skin, and anyone who wants a quick, no-brush blush.

Glowy or not? Glowy. If you like cream blush and the Rhode look (it pairs nicely with the Rhode Glazing Mist), it lives up to the attention.

3. e.l.f. Halo Glow Blush Beauty Wand

Researched, not tested

Price: $10 for 10 mL (0.33 fl oz) at Target, Ulta and e.l.f.

Formula and finish: A liquid blush in a doe-foot wand with a radiant finish.

This is the budget blush the beauty community keeps comparing to Charlotte Tilbury’s wands, and it was the third most mentioned blush by creators in September. Lacey Brown of The Everygirl called it lightweight, blendable and forgiving, and said it stayed put for about six hours. She described the finish as shiny but not glittery: “the radiance isn’t glittery, but it definitely has shine.”

Best for: Anyone on a budget, or anyone who wants to try the liquid blush trend before spending more.

Glowy or not? Glowy. At $10, it’s the easiest one to try.

4. Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Matte Beauty Blush Wand

Researched, not tested

Price: $44 for 12 mL at Sephora, Bluemercury and Charlotte Tilbury

Formula and finish: A liquid blush in a cushion applicator that dries to a soft, velvety matte. It comes in 4 shades: Pillow Talk, Pink Pop, Peach Pop and Dream Pop.

Charlotte Tilbury’s blush wands are some of the most famous blushes on social media, and they were the second most mentioned in September. Vanese Maddix of The Zoe Report rated the matte version 4 out of 5 and called it “a one-dot wonder for baby blushed skin.” She liked that it isn’t drying and gives a soft blurring effect.

Best for: Anyone who loves the Pillow Talk look and prefers a matte finish.

Glowy or not? Glowy, if you like matte. If you want glow for less, try e.l.f. first.

5. YSL Make Me Blush 24H Buildable Powder Blush

Researched, not tested

Price: $46 at Sephora, Nordstrom and YSL Beauty (often on sale; it was $36.80 at YSL in early November)

Formula and finish: A finely milled powder in satin and velvety matte finishes, in 10 shades. YSL also makes a $40 liquid version.

YSL’s blush went viral after its campaign with Dua Lipa, and creators mentioned it in 457 videos in September. Georgia Scott of Grazia tested the shade Babydoll Pink and said it blurred her pores better than other powder blushes she’d tried: “Instantly, my complexion looked more radiant, less dull.” She also noted that “a little goes a long way.”

Best for: Oily or combination skin, and anyone who prefers powder over liquid.

Glowy or not? Glowy, as a splurge. Wait for a sale if you can.

6. Huda Beauty Blush Filter

Researched, not tested

Price: $25 for 4.5 mL (0.15 fl oz) at Sephora and Huda Beauty

Formula and finish: A liquid blush with finely milled micro-pearls for a soft, glowy, “airbrushed” look. It comes in 14 shades and has a candy scent.

Huda Beauty’s Blush Filter is a favorite with fans of a dewy glow, and it was the fifth most mentioned blush by creators in September. Huda Beauty says it’s very pigmented, buildable and works across all skin tones.

Best for: Anyone who loves a glowy, “filtered” look and doesn’t mind fragrance.

Glowy or not? Maybe. It’s well loved, but Rare Beauty costs the same and gives you more product.

Final verdict: which viral blush is worth it?

If you only buy one, I’d start with Rare Beauty Soft Pinch. It has the best mix of price, size and reviews. If you prefer cream and a natural finish, Rhode Pocket Blush is the one everyone is talking about. And if you just want to try the trend, the $10 e.l.f. Halo Glow wand is hard to beat.

Save the splurges, Charlotte Tilbury and YSL, for when you know you love that finish, or wait for a holiday sale.

FAQ
